Curves Woodley

Queenie ‘Budge’ Bird
Miss January 2009

”I joined Curves because my flexibility was very poor and my Doctor recommended that exercise would help. I had walked past Curves several times before braving it up the stairs, but now I have never looked back. I just love coming to Curves – everyone is so friendly and I am losing weight without even trying. I always put on weight over the winter months, but this year, not only did I not put any weight on but I even managed to lose 6lbs over the festive period. Best of all, my balance and walking has improved dramatically. The real test came when I went away with my family over Christmas. We always go walking and most years I slow them down. Now I lead the way! When I first started at Curves I couldn’t move my feet off the recovery stations, now I can kick my legs out in front of me!”

Budge joined Curves in November 2008 and at 76 is our oldest member!

Kate Gorman
Miss February 2009

Kate was nominated in February to be our 2nd Calendar Girl, not just because she has seen some great results since she’s started, but because she embraces everything about Curves, taking part in all the games and challenges. And best of all - she tells everyone about us!

“I joined in March 2008 and have now lost a stone since I started. In February I managed to lose 7” and 7lbs. I enjoy it so much that I now come 5 times a week! I like that the instructors workout with us and help keep us motivated. All my friends, family and business associate’s regularly comment on my weight loss and new shape! I tell everyone who asks, and even those that don’t, that its because I go to Curves!”

Diane Flynn
Miss March 2009

Diane and her daughter Lacey joined during our 2008 Food Drive. Diane came 2nd in our Biggest Loser 2008 competition, losing a phenomenal 32.5” and 35.2lbs (2 stone 5 lbs) and reducing her Body Fat composition by 6.6%. In total, Diane has lost 4 ½ stone since she joined us just by eating healthily and doing her 3 workouts per week.

“I love food and I hate gyms. But Curves is great exercise for women who don’t like gyms. Sometimes I still have to force myself to come, but I’m always glad that I do and feel much better after doing the workout. I have a hectic lifestyle, but the 30 minute workout means it’s a quick fix that suits me. Now I’ve decided that being fit and healthy is more important to me that eating what I want when I want. Although I must admit, coming to Curves does mean I can still indulge from time to time.”
